WHY WE DEVELOPED THE TABATHA TECH BREGGINGS
The Tabatha Tech Breggings didn’t start with a catalogue but through research.
Before developing them, we reviewed what was already available across the breeches and breggings market and asked a simple question: ''what are riders still putting up with that we could actually fix?''
We found seven recurring problems......
Our challenge was to rectify every one of them using premium fabrics, specialist stretch threads and considered tailoring, while keeping the finished garment at a mid-range price point comparable to many white-labelled alternatives.
1. POCKETS WHERE RIDERS ACTUALLY NEED THEM
One of the first things we noticed was traditional back pockets positioned directly across the seat and bum cheeks a common feature on catalogue-style breeches.
But we’re riders. Why would we want to sit on extra seams, buttons and pocket construction for hours in the saddle? plus pockets on bum cheeks are not flattering. (were riders ourselves, we get it)
So we removed unnecessary bulk from the areas you actually sit on and considered pocket placement around the riding position instead. Brought much higher up.
P.s We also added within the flattering V front shape binding secret treat pockets. (No more getting melted sugar cubes in your mobule phone speaker, leave your phone for the side phone pockets.
2. A WAISTBAND WITH PROPER STRUCTURE
Too many waistbands simply aren’t substantial enough.
Once you start moving, riding and bending, a thin or poorly structured waistband can roll, fold and lose its shape.
Tabatha uses a more supportive waistband construction designed to comfortably sculpt and stay in position.
3. STRETCH THREADS WHERE MOVEMENT DEMANDS THEM
A technical riding garment shouldn't just use stretchy fabric the construction needs to move too.
We identified seam work as another potential point of restriction, discomfort and premature breakage.
So specialist stretch threads and premium seam construction became an important part of the Tabatha development.
4. NO LOGOS PLASTERED ACROSS YOUR SEAT
We wanted Tabatha to be genuinely versatile.
Large branded silicone logos and gels across the seat can instantly make a garment look like sportswear and limit how useful it feels away from everyday training.
We wanted something cleaner and more refined suitable for training, competition and everyday wear without screaming branding from across the saddle.
5. WE RE-THOUGHT WHERE THE WAIST SHOULD ACTUALLY SIT
Waist placement matters enormously when you're riding.
Too low and you're constantly pulling your breeches back up. Too high or incorrectly shaped and they can fold, roll or dig into your stomach when you close your hip angle.
So rather than simply making the waistband "higher", we looked at ''how a rider's body actually changes position in the saddle''.
6. THE V-SYSTEM™ WAIST STRUCTURE
This became one of the most important parts of the design.
Traditional trousers are generally patterned around someone standing upright. Riders don't stay upright.
We sit at an angle, fold through the hip and move into a two-point position. That changes exactly where coverage and support are needed, particularly at the back.
We've all experienced the dreaded ''builder's bum'' when breeches pull down behind as you sit in the saddle or ride.
Our new V-System™ waist structure was developed specifically around the riding position, creating additional consideration through the back waist while maintaining a flattering, comfortable fit through the front and creating an anchor point to keep them in place.
7. BUTTERY-SOFT FABRIC. FEWER ANNOYING SEAMS.
Technical shouldn't mean itchy, stiff or uncomfortable.
We selected a buttery-soft sculpting fabric and worked to reduce unnecessary seam work throughout the garment, including bulky ankle seams that can become uncomfortable underneath riding boots.
The result is a smoother, softer garment designed for hours in the saddle, not just five minutes standing in front of a mirror.
7 PROBLEMS. ONE COMPLETELY RE-THOUGHT BREGGING.
Tabatha is what happens when you stop asking ''what can we sell?" and start asking "what can we improve for the HORZEHOODS rider?"

So we thought we’d put the proof in the pudding.
